Album: Gucci Mane – Evil Genius (Zip Download)

Gucci Mane has been sorely missed. Guwop has been dropping verses on other artists and slowly rolling out his Evil Genius album, but it’s been awhile since he blessed up with a new album. The tedious rollout for his latest project only reflects the amount of passion Gucci poured into this project. Just like an evil genius, Gucci locked himself in the lab until his devious plot was fully concocted, and now it has arrived. Last month, Gucci shared the tracklist for Evil which features
Gucci recently entered his name into the best rapper alive argument, and this album will only stoke the flames of that discussion. “Who doper than me like for real? I wanna hear ya’ll tell me, and why,” he declared. “I got a million reasons why I am, why would someone else be better? What they did? Who they help? What they been through? What’s they track record? Do they do what they say? How many hurdles have they jumped? How much opposition do they have? Did they have a cakewalk? Did they do it by themselves? Was they blackballed? Did they have one of they own behind their back when they was doing it? Did they ever break? Did anybody ever take something from them? Did they ever snitch? I’m unblemished.” With Evil Genius fresh in your speakers, do you think he has a point?

Meek Mill Drops “Championships” Featuring Drake, Jay-Z, Cardi B & More

Though 2018 brought forth an unexpected onslaught of challenges, Meek Mill has reason to celebrate. Free after an unjust prison stint, in which a judge seemingly bore a heated grudge against the Philadelphia rapper, Meek found himself embraced by a game that felt his absence. Not only was the Wins & Losses rapper blessed with a renewed sense of hunger, but he also found himself becoming a figurehead of sorts, a face of the unjust penal system and those who unfairly suffer beneath it. It’s no wonder that Meek Mill is feeling like the Championship games are afoot; if this is not a second wind, I don’t know what is.
The ample features speak to the unanimous respect Meek has been subject to of late. “Championships” finds Meek joining forces with Fabolous, Jay-ZRick RossCardi BFuture, Young Thug, and of course, his once-nemesis Drake. In short, the album feels poised to go down as one of Meek’s definitive works, if not his most purposeful. For a moment, fans thought they had lost the rapper to The Clink for an indefinite period. Not only is he back, but he’s putting out some serious heat. Consider this the rebirth of Meek Mill, a well-earned victory lap, and a testament to his place in this game.

MP3: Anderson .Paak – Mansa Musa Feat. Dr. Dre & Cocoa Sarai

When Anderson .Paak says he’s back on his bullshit, you get a sense that he’s doing it manually. His mentor Dr. Dre receives the memo too. After securing the billion dollar bag with the cleanest of hands, what more can Dre have to offer as a lyricist?
Well, on “Anderson .Paak – Mansa Musa,” Dre finally caves, giving into the line of questioning which has dogged him all this time.
“Is he a bully, a pariah, or both?”
In a bully scenario, a bespectacled Anderson .Paak does his bidding from an unrelaxed position. But in reality, a single thread exists between Anderson .Paak and Dr. Dre: the notion of passion and intensity.
When I see Dr. Dre kicking it with artist’s 20 years his junior, and excelling with that arrangement in place, I get a nice smile on my face.
Quotable Lyrics:
Now I’ve been on some different shit lately
Like I need to dumb it down for this hip-hop scene
Can only come around for this type shit here
If I have to bust around, it’s on the hits, my dear
Now what we gwan do with all these hits over here?
Go up in smoke when I disappear, reappear
Hah, I’m just bein’ sincere.

Up and coming rap duo City Girls have been making a name for themselves. The group recently released their album Girl Code which boasts a number of features from some of the most influential names in the game today: Cardi B, Jacquees and Lil Baby.
The last of the aforementioned artists is featured on the track “City Girls – Season” adding a fresh perspective and additional layer to the high energy track which sees JT and Yung Miami discussing the art of securing checks from their main men for no reason other than the fact that their hustle and composure demand it.

MP3: Mike Will Made It – Shea Butter Baby Feat. J. Cole & Ari Lennox

Mike WiLL Made-It’s Creed II: The Album has been steadily arriving piecemeal, with contributions from Nicki MinajA$AP Rocky, and A$AP Ferg, as well as Nas and Rick Ross. Now, “Shea Butter Baby” arrives courtesy of J. Cole and Ari Lennox, who bring a touch of intimacy to the otherwise imposing offerings. Backed by a Spanish guitar arrangement evocative of Santana’s “Maria Maria,” Lennox showcases her lovely voice, painting an evocative picture over a sultry arrangement. “If you’re really down we can find it,” she sings. “Lost in an alley, make love by a trashcan.” Rats be damned, if you with it, the rest is history.
Cole continues his streak of magnificence, waxing poetic about the scent of coconut oil among other romantic properties. Taking a page out of “Pretty Little Fears” playbook, Cole plays the Casanova, showcasing yet another side of his multifaceted persona. The end result is a genuinely electric back and forth, in which the chemistry suggests a bond beyond creativity. Peep “Shea Butter Baby” now.
Quotable Lyrics
Coconut oil, the scent of your body still lingers on sheets
I got a shot at you, you wouldn’t reach
Cock back, cock back trigger release
Pop that top take a sip of your holiest water
I know I’m a part of your flow now
Say when you cut it her body you love it now you’ve got part of her soul now
I didn’t know then but I know now
